International trade fair kicks off near Beijing

An international economic and trade fair kicked off on Sunday in Langfang, Hebei province, to promote business cooperation among companies and cities from home and abroad according to the provincial government, which is the co-host along with the Ministry of Commerce. The city is neighbor to national capital Beijing.

The China Langfang International Economic and Trade Fair will be held from Sunday to Tuesday and is titled "Year of Project Construction - Now is the Best Time to Invest in Hebei".

During the three-day fair, more than 50 activities will be held, including conferences and exhibitions involving industrial matchmaking, regional cooperation, international communication and investment promotion.

To reduce virus transmission risks, the activities will be mainly held online.

Representatives from some foreign embassies in China, overseas states and cities, Fortune Global 500 companies, universities and research institutes will attend the activities in-person or online.

Started in Langfang in the year 2000, the annual fair has been one of the most important investment and trade platforms in Hebei. It ordinarily begins on May 18.
